EPA, NCLR, AND EVS TO LAUNCH 2002 LEAD POISONING PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), and EVS Communications tomorrow will launch their 2002 Lead Poisoning Awareness Campaign in conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15. The event will be held at Mary's Center for Maternal & Child Care, Inc., a leading Washington-area health clinic and an NCLR affiliate, beginning at 3 p.m. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness among Latino parents of the importance of routine lead screenings for their children.
