EPA ISSUES FINAL RULE EXTENDING SPCC DEADLINES BY 60 DAYS AND PROPOSES RULE EXTENDING DEADLINES FOR ONE YEAR

January 09, 2003

Today EPA published in the Federal Register an Interim Final Rule that extends, effective today, January 9, 2003, for sixty days, the dates for a facility to amend and implement its Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan. EPA is issuing this extension in order to avoid a flood of individual extension requests and to allow for adequate consideration of comments EPA expects to receive on a proposed one-year extension of the dates published also included in today’s Federal Register. For a copy of the Interim Final Rule, click HERE. For a copy of the Proposed Rule, click HERE. AAAE, ACI-NA, NATA and ATA are working together in working with EPA on addressing issues associated with these notices and regulations. For more information, contact AAAE’s Director of Environmental Affairs, Claudio Ternieden, at (703) 793-0500, Ext. 198, or by e-mail at claudio.ternieden@airportnet.org Click here for Interim Final Rule and Proposed Rule
